Andre Sedlak, Esq., received his Bachelor of Science in Business, Summa Cum Laude from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY and his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY.
Andre’s experience includes: former Associate Attorney with the KVA law firm, in Poughkeepsie, NY and legal internships with the Westchester County District Attorney’s office in Yonkers, NY and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Prior to practicing law, Andre worked twenty one years for the New York State Department of Corrections as a Corrections officer and Correction Sergeant in Sing Sing, Downstate and Fishkill Correctional Facilities.
During the course of his Corrections employment, Andre held several Labor Union positions including; Steward, Chief Shop Steward and Local Union Secretary. Andre also held a position on the grievance resolution committee and negotiated hundreds of settlements concerning employment disputes between management and labor.
In October 1993 Andre received the Corrections Crisis Intervention Unit Training Certificate and became a hostage negotiator. In 1999 he was promoted to Assistant Crisis Team Leader and received specialized training in the identification, tracking and collection of data concerning unauthorized organizations, groups and religions.
Andre is a lifelong Hudson Valley resident with an interest in Early American History. He is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society, the New York State Bar Association, the Dutchess County Bar Association and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
